The 19th Annual Carr Center Cake Auction was last week in Zanesville and the Z102 Morning Show (Jared and Robyn) participated with a cake of their own made by Sharon (Jared's mom).
The Carr Center is a non-profit organization that provides free services to disables children and adults. Their biggest fund raiser of the year is a cake auction. The key to the cake auction is actually the incentives that go with the cakes. Many business participate (this year there were 414 cakes) with incentives such as vacation packages, landscaping packages, tires, dental work....etc. etc. Well Jared was interviewing a lady from the Carr Center about a month before the auction was scheduled to take place and he joked that he was going to put a cake in the auction with the incentive being a chance to be a DJ for a day and co-host the morning show with he and Robyn. The lady thought it was a great idea and although it began as a joke, it turned out to be a huge success. The cake actually sold 3 times for $300 a piece which means that Jared helped bring in $900 to the Carr Center. The 3 DJ's for a day are scheduled to co-host the morning show later this month.
Jared has come up with some really neat ideas and his efforts are starting to pay off at WHIZ. This month he's working on another promotion to lower gas prices for a day, and in May he's going to be doing Karaoke Krazy Fridayz. I'm excited for him. He's really getting into his job and coming up with some great ideas. His company held a listener focus group recently to find out what listners like and dislike and Jared was the only DJ that was mentioned by the people involved in the forum. They all love him and his show and really appreciate what he brings to them every morning. The morning show is really taking off at Z102 and starting to gain some recognition. He's added a female co-host/news person who helps the show out a lot too. It's fun to listen to. If you get a chance, check it out. It's 102.5 FM Monday through Fridays 6am-11am. Their signal reaches all the way from Columbus to Middleport, OH and even into Parkersburg and Ripley, WV.

Last Friday was my pinning ceremony at Ohio University. I am officially a nursing school graduate! Yeay!!! Here are a few pictures. Sorry for the poor quality. Apparently whoever took these pictures had no idea how to use my camera  My mother and father-in law got cut out of the picture of me and Jared with my parents. You can just barely see Mike but not Sharon. Sorry Mike and Sharon.

Time for another fotopage update. This update will have pictures from Christmas and also pictures of Jared's trip to Nashville, TN for the American Baseball Coaches' Association clinic. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment.
The last picture on the page is of our friend Scott. When he and Jared and K.P. went to Nashville they happened to see Bret Michaels (former lead singer of the band Poison) at a club one night. There was a band playing and they invited him to sing with them. After he was finished Scott grabbed him for a picture. Unfortunately the only camera the guys had on them at the time was Jared's camera phone and it didn't have a flash. That's why the picture is dark and blurry. But we wanted to put it up here anyway because Scott was so excited and new that nobody would believe that he got his picture taken with a rock star.

Jared and I went to a Halloween party in Lancaster with our friends Scott and Amy Burke last night. We had a great time and met lots of new people. There were some great costumes there too. My favorites were Brian and Nikki Arnold dressed up like Shaggy and Thelma from Scooby Doo. I also liked Bad Santa...he looked (and acted) just like the character played by Billy Bob Thornton in the movie. Here are some pictures from the evening. Enjoy!

Jared and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary last week (September 13). So this past weekend we took a trip to Pittsburgh. We went to Kennywood amusement park and the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium thanks to free tickets from Jared's radio station. We also went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game. Neither one of us like the Pirates but Jared loves baseball and we enjoy visiting as many parks as we can. PNC Park is very cool! Probably next to Camden Yards in Baltimore, this is the nicest park we've been to. But of course Jared is still partial to Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Jared got to go to the Buckeyes opening game of the season today with a few guys he works with (free of course from the radio station). So the title freaked you out huh? Well it's not what you're thinking. IT'S A PUPPY! We got a little Chocolate Lab mix (we have no idea what it's mixed with, if anything at all) puppy from the Muskingum Co. Animal Shelter today. Her name is Cocoa. Here are the very first pictures we've taken of her.
